WAN Wide Area Network a wide network covering large geographical areas. At the same time we can divide networks into wired or wireless depending on the type of connection. The last type of network division is division based on topology. The topology of a computer network determines how devices are connected within it and how they transmit data among themselves. For example a bus topology assumes that all devices are connected to a common cable.

With a ring topology each device is connected to two neighboring devices and all of them form a closed circle. Below we present an overview of popular topologies along with their advantages and disadvantages.
